Perception and memory are the processes through which we construct the representations of ourselves and the world which make up our minds. These representations guide subsequent perceptions, problem solving and decision making processes, both conscious and unconscious. Through language we relate to our social environment. Current theory and experimental research in cognitive psychology dealing with these concepts and processes will be covered, as well as applications in professional contexts.
