An introduction to the theory and practice of investments, with special emphasis on investment criteria, sources of information and types of financial investments. Develops an understanding of the organization and function of securities market, investment alternatives, and valuation of securities. Explores sources of investment information, introduces the major approaches to investment selection, analyses the relationship of risk to required rates of returns, portfolio construction and monitoring.
