Introduces the student to the methodology of engineering design to enable them to undertake complex design work. Design strategies, including problem decomposition and solution synthesis, will be used by student teams or individually to create robust and sustainable solutions to engineering projects. The projects will build on principles and material previously studied and will help the student to understand and solve engineering systems. Aspects of project management will be introduced which include cooperative working, time management, documentation, reporting, and presentation skills.
