Short course programmes
There is no academic requirement for entry into many of the Short Courses offered at AUT. People entering at an introductory level may not have formal qualifications. Short Course programmes are designed to equip you with a level of knowledge, to enable you to progress in your career, change direction or continue on with studying at a higher level.
Don’t delay! As places on our Short Course programmes are very limited – approximately 15 places per programme – to avoid disappointment, it is important that you apply as soon as possible.

To Ensure Enrolment
  • If your course indicates previous experience is required, we would recommend you supply a copy of your Curriculum Vitae outlining your current (or previous) work experience, and/or any academic qualifications you may have previously received.
  • Once you have been accepted on to the course, your credit card payment will be actioned, and you will receive a letter of confirmation from the relevant Programme Administrator providing you with appropriate information regarding your timetable, room number etc.
    Confirmation of enrolment
  • To ensure a place on an AUT Short Course programme, your fee payment is required (in full) at least 10 days prior to the commencement date of the course
  • If you wish to make a late enrolment (i.e. within 7 days prior to the course commencing), it is advisable that you contact the programme administrator directly to confirm availability of places (or cancellation of the course). Contact details of all programme administrators are clearly shown under each course description
  • All enrolments are confirmed with an official receipt from AUT. If you have not received your receipt prior to commencement of your course, contact the Student Hub. Ph: (09) 917 9779 immediately.
  • Executive/Company enrolments – please provide your company’s Purchase Order Number details so that billing can be forwarded directly to your company
  • Once your fee payment is received, information relating to the course starting date, time and venue will be sent to you by the relevant Programme Administrator. This usually occurs one week prior to the commencement date
  • Remember: Keep your official receipt with you, as you may be required to present this on day one of your course
Refund Policy – Compact Courses only
  • If a course is cancelled by AUT, you will be advised as soon as possible and the course fee will be refunded in full to you, as the enrolled student.
  • If you wish to withdraw from the course or transfer to another, a $30.00 administration charge will apply. A full withdrawal from a course up to 7 days prior to the start date will result in a 50% refund.
