This course provides a framework to develop intercultural competencies for effective, empathetic interaction in international and multicultural contexts and a deep understanding of the relationship between language and individual perceptions of the world, attitudes, and behaviour. Through experiential learning, students will engage in a process of critical self-reflection, while starting to develop intercultural sensitivity and critical awareness and understanding of their own identity and worldview, by comparing with those of others. Students will also reflect on the repercussions of misunderstandings on intercultural interactions.
