Students are introduced to current issues in and around the Deaf community, both in NZ and internationally. Students will build on their understanding of Deaf Culture and apply their knowledge to key issues through human rights frameworks. There is a particular emphasis placed on analysing these issues from multiple perspectives in order to prepare students for work between the Deaf community and mainstream society.
