Examines the way the Treaty of Waitangi has shaped the contemporary relationship between Treaty partners. An understanding of Māori resistance movements will provide students with an appreciation of societal inequities that are universally recognised as a consequence of colonisation. A marae-based experiential learning event focusing on moving beyond the Treaty to facilitate personal responsibility to address Treaty inequities.
