Provides a background to the nature of the construction and civil engineering industry and its operations. Introduces the cultural and organisational context of construction operations in Aotearoa / New Zealand. Introduces an understanding of the factors involved in establishing temporary facilities on site, as well as the detailed provision for access and the selection and management of plant to facilitate supervision of construction and civil engineering operations. The tools and techniques required for site management are introduced. Site establishment issues are addressed.
