The practical applications of thermodynamics including: Brayton and Rankine Power Cycles, Vapour Compression Refrigeration Cycles, Psychometry, Air Conditioning and Combustion. The physical and theoretical description of the three modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection and radiation and the application of fundamental heat transfer equations to engineering heat flow situations. The thermal design of heat exchangers is covered as a specific practical application of heat transfer theory.
