The intrinsic rights of children and youth within local and global contexts of childhood is the focus. The multiplicity of childhood is analysed through perspectives of inequality and privilege. Emphasis is placed on how experiences of voice, participation and agency contribute to the place of children and youth as active and valued members of Aotearoa New Zealand society.
