Provides a framework for development of capabilities and competencies to interact effectively with speakers of other languages and/or different cultures. Students will engage in a process of critical self-reflection, while starting to develop intercultural sensitivity and critical awareness and understanding of their own identity and worldview, by comparing and contrasting with those of others. As they explore the relationship between language and culture in experiential learning, students are able to appreciate the relationship between language and culture, and the repercussions of misunderstandings on intercultural interactions.
