Purpose
The Diploma in Visual Arts Titohu mo te Toi Ataata allows students to explore tertiary study across core foundational visual arts subjects before committing themselves to a full degree programme. In addition to discipline knowledge, students will develop academic writing, communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Successful completion will allow students to transfer into the Bachelor of Visual Arts Te Tohu Paetahi mo Toi Ataata, with credit where appropriate. This qualification will also be available as a stand-alone qualification for students wanting a shorter visual arts qualification and as an exit qualification for those students who may choose not to continue their studies with the completion of a full degree programme.
