Purpose
PgCertCIS graduates will have advanced knowledge and skills within a specialist field of computer and information sciences and advanced analytical, planning and critical thinking skills. They may progress to further study at postgraduate diploma or master's level.
Content
Computer systems design and development (usage centred design, eSystems design and development, ubiquitous computing, computer graphics and animation, software requirements, engineering middleware); knowledge engineering and management (bioinformatics, health informatics, data mining and knowledge engineering, data warehousing, collaborative computing and workflow); information technology management (net-centric computing, information security, IT strategy and policy, integrating IT and the enterprise, ICT issues, strategic IT contract management).
