This qualification is no longer offered. See Master of Science AK1037. MAppSc graduates will have advanced knowledge and understanding in their chosen field of applied science. They will be critical and reflective, with strong applied research capability. They will have demonstrated the ability to engage in a sustained period of research, and may progress to further study at doctoral level.

Management of the research process; acquisition of knowledge and skills; research and presentation of a thesis in: bioinformatics; molecular genetics; metabolism (body composition, nutrition or energy expenditure), environmental science and environmental engineering (marine biodiversity, marine ecology, aquaculture, biogeography, environmental issues, sustainability engineering, water quality), glycoscience (glycobiology, carbohydrate blood group chemistry, histochemistry, glycosyltransferase molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, embryology).
