| Purpose |
|
Graduates of the MClinPrac(Midwifery) will be eligible to apply for registration with the Midwifery Council New Zealand as a kahu pokai midwife upon successfully completing the programme. They will be competent and confident to work in all new kahu pokai midwifery graduate settings and eligible for entry into a graduate midwifery support programme currently Midwifery First Year of Practice MFYP programme) and be eligible to work across the full Scope of Midwifery Practice including Lead Maternity Care practice and Core hospital midwifery practice. They will be academically, culturally, and clinically safe. They will be able to adapt to new challenges and contribute to the profession of kahu pokai midwifery as consumers and creators of high-quality research. They will be critical and reflective practitioners able to pursue further postgraduate study.
