Purpose |
BHSc(Mid) graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the NZ Midwifery Council and able to practise as independent or hospital midwives. They will be critical and reflective practitioners able to pursue postgraduate study.

Midwifery studies and midwifery practice: professional frameworks, human anatomy and physiology, psychology and life span development, Maori health and development, health and environment, normal birth, normal neonate, complicated childbirth, newborn with special needs, childbirth complexities, lactation and breastfeeding, women's health assessment, pharmacology, transition to practice, complexity and diversity in practice, integrating practice.
