Prescriptor

Sharpens students’ understanding of storytelling through the conventions of poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction. Employs critical analysis and theory to map how these different genres and forms can be mobilised for creative writing. Students will concentrate their writing practice by developing a clearly articulated theme through which to produce a sequence of texts encompassing poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction. Weekly writing exercises will provoke students to explore the potential of these genres to serve their expressive purposes.
