This course provides students with advanced knowledge of civil construction engineering principles and practices, emphasising the integration of technical expertise with digital construction management approaches. It explores the convergence of engineering practices with advanced technologies, innovative techniques and emerging project delivery methods, systems thinking and industry transformation strategies. The course also builds on fundamental principles to develop the students’ ability to produce detailed, New Zealand-compliant structural drawings and Building Information Modelling (BIM) models for a range of construction systems. Through critical evaluation of digital tools and real-world problem-solving, the course cultivates both technical proficiency and leadership capabilities in digitally enabled civil construction environments.
