This course will introduce students to the concepts of teaching and learning with infants and toddlers in early childhood education in Aotearoa/New Zealand and beyond. Students will explore the early childhood curriculum; Te Whāriki to understand the ways in which very young children make vital connections to people, places and things. The course will examine the importance of reciprocal and responsive relationships between adults and infants and toddlers within an early childhood setting, and seek to discover the ways this can be experienced.
