Introduces the interconnections among the biosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, geosphere, and anthroposphere as key concepts underpinning environmental science at local, national, and global scales. Examines the fundamental abiotic and biotic processes driving environmental variability and resilience. Considers contemporary environmental issues and their management in the Aotearoa New Zealand context, including from a Te Ao Māori perspective.
