The design and development of complex digital hardware systems. The design and implementation of complex digital functionality using embedded microprocessors and Field Programmable hardware devices such as FPGA. Applications are developed for embedded microcontroller systems and for FPGA based systems. Students will be able to use appropriate tools to express functional requirements in terms of state transition diagrams and then implement these in VHDL code suitable for direct programming of advanced Field Programmable hardware devices.
