Teachers who care have an understanding of their learners and the importance of context. They critically reflect on and question the elements of design for learning, their practice as teachers, and the impact on children as learners. Students in this course will develop a critical understanding of learners and the social nature of learning (including cultural views, particularly Māori) informed by psychological theory. They will critically reflect on the impact of their practice as teachers on children (including planning, assessing, and managing learning).
