Responsive teachers in New Zealand classrooms, recognising the diverse bicultural and multicultural context, will ensure that the voices of these groups are represented in curriculum and pedagogy. Thus the focus in English and Mathematics & Statistics in this course will be on critical theories and pedagogical practices which raise student teacher awareness of impacts of assumptions and beliefs on inclusive practice and learning partnerships. This course offers opportunities to explore and critique the role of learning partnerships.
