Teachers need funds of professional knowledge and this course will allow pre-service teachers to develop an understanding of the integrated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) approach to learning with a particular emphasis on Science. Students will make connections to science in the New Zealand curriculum and through exploring authentic issues in Aotearoa and globally, analyse how the approach enhances learners’ questioning and communication skills, critical thinking and inquiry and conceptual understanding.
