Develops understandings of core principles and skills of culturally responsive, person-centred practice in Aotearoa New Zealand as applied to physiotherapy interactions. Explores the impact of the socio-political context on health while introducing the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ethical and legal frameworks to the provision of physiotherapy. Key themes are advanced in subsequent courses as students develop reflective, evidence-based and clinically reasoned practice.
