In this course students engage critically with the development of innovative practice and research in early childhood education. Students develop a theory of innovation to critique historical and contemporary innovations, to contextualise innovations within the context of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and to explore possible future innovations given contemporary trends and policies. Students then engage in the design of an innovation in early childhood practice or research that responds to a clearly articulated educational aim or problem.
