This paper delivers an overview of foundational concepts of spherical and positional astronomy, celestial mechanics and orbital dynamics, special and general relativity theory. Topics include celestial coordinate systems and their transformations, parallax, precession and aberration, atomic and sidereal time, time-keeping and calendars, as well as the basics of celestial mechanics such as Kepler’s laws, two-body orbital motion, and binary star orbits.
