Learning and teaching, while contextualized within higher education, is impacted by forces at local, national and global levels. How do we remain relevant yet true to our academic tradition? How does corporatisation and managerialism in higher education organisations impact academics? How do we expand our influence as we respond to our place in bicultural and multicultural New Zealand and in the globalised and internationalised world? We will challenge, extend and provoke thinking around what it means to be an academic in higher education in a contemporary organisation.
