Draws on diverse theoretical frameworks from economics and applies them to examine the historical as well as political-economic context of the development of the New Zealand economy over time. Examines the interrelationship of historical and contemporary economic issues and policies with social, cultural and political processes at national and international levels. It will assist the study of economic issues in all social science courses by focusing on topics such as New Zealand households, firms, labour markets, inequality, monetary and fiscal policy, financial markets, and international trade.
