This online course engages students in a detailed exploration of the purposes, processes and linguistic conventions for writing up research. Using genre theory as an analytical tool, it enables students to recognise and scrutinise the generic conventions of research writing operating in their particular academic fields. Students use the results of these analyses to inform and enhance their own research writing practices.
