A hands-on exploration of creation, community, and communication in our networked society, this course surveys different forms of online communication, teaches writing skills for those media, and asks students to participate in and contribute to online communities. Formats and genres considered include blogging and social media, but also game writing, fanfiction, short film, reviewing, content curation, and essaying. Privacy, security, and self-representation online are integrated throughout.
