An exploration of ways the Pacific has been framed and studied in the humanities and social sciences; Pacific systems of knowledge production, the relationship between Pacific epistemologies, pedagogies and methodologies; critical approaches to developing Pacific research and the application of these understandings in developing and carrying out research. While the generic term Pacific is used, and includes New Zealand and diaspora communities, ethnic specific study will be encouraged.
