Introduces students to the patterns and regularity of crime and how the criminal justice system operates in Aotearoa (New Zealand). It provides a description of crime and emphasises the societal response by providing insight into the workings of the criminal justice system. This will be achieved by providing the student with a journey that starts with the offender's initial contact with the police, the courtroom process involved in being convicted and on to the offender's experience of prison.
