Critical analysis of Maori language styles and genre, both oral and written, including whaikorero, karanga, waiata, and haka. Students will examine the use of metaphor, figurative speech, formulaic sayings, idioms and colloquialisms within these language styles. There will also be a focus on high level Maori language grammar. This paper is taught in the medium of te reo Maori.
