Pacific ethnographies is an exploration of the ways in which fieldwork about Pacific Island states and Pacific communities in diaspora is written. How is the Pacific written into academic literature; and what is the difference between how an outsider observes and records what they see and experience in the field in contrast to an insider who is a field researcher and an affiliate of the Pacific community being researched? Lastly, how does lived experience, subjectivity and identity influence the way we write fieldwork?
