Ways that children's thinking is extended, roles of parents and teachers in children's learning are critically examined. Bicultural perspectives on extending children's thinking; current approaches to teaching and learning; early brain development; emergent literacy and numeracy; socio-cultural/linguistic context of learning for young children and play as pedagogy.
