This course fosters critical understanding of educational leadership approaches in complex contemporary cultures and communities. It examines how socio-cultural identities are produced, experienced and sustained in educational communities. Students study educational leadership responses to cultures and communities in different jurisdictions, including Aotearoa New Zealand under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Students develop their own critical approaches to educational leadership and enhance their knowledge and capability in collaboration and community engagement, informed by understanding of social justice within cultures and communities.
