Related topics include perspectives on what we can know about; objectivity and subjectivity; how we decide that we know; types of knowledge; criteria and approaches for evaluating knowledge and ways of producing new knowledge. Also examined in this course are views of various critical social theorists and the ways in which knowledge is influenced by social, cultural and political factors.
