Students develop and apply knowledge of phonetics and phonology in ways relevant to their own needs and interests, such as: improving English pronunciation, teaching pronunciation, interpreting, improving cross-cultural communication skills, cross-linguistic and cross-cultural comparisons, and learning more about language and linguistics. This course aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and strengthen students' confidence in their cultural identities and ability to communicate clearly in a multi-cultural setting.
