Explores a range of different types of cultures/societies, with some reference to the Pacific region. Introduces students to a range of worldviews, beliefs and social, economic and political practices and how these affect the interactions between groups. Includes consideration of the background and issues that lead to conflicts and modes of conflict resolution, and broader processes such as colonisation and globalisation. Also includes critical perspectives on the processes of representation.
